Bristol City’s Antoine Semenyo transfer latest as Middlesbrough snap up Premier League defender

Bristol City will be looking to build on their solid start to the season this weekend.

The Robins face Blackpool away from home on Saturday afternoon, and they will be looking to build on their seven points so far.

It has not been a perfect start by any means from City, but back-to-back wins and three without defeat have them just one point off the top six, as early in the campaign as it may be.

Semenyo latest

Antoine Semenyo could yet be the subject of a bid before the end of the window.

As revealed by Bristol World, Semenyo’s fitness, or indeed lack thereof, will be key to any departure from Ashton Gate ahead of the deadline.

The likes of Bournemouth and Crystal Palace have been linked with the City star, but it’s understood clubs are waiting on his return to fitness before making a move.

Boro snap up defender

Middlesbrough have completed the signing of Brighton defender Matt Clarke.

The 25-year-old has been with Brighton since 2019, moving to the Seagulls after an impressive spell with Portsmouth.

He now joins Middlesbrough on a three-year deal, with Chris Wilder adding further strength to his already strong Boro side.

Farkas on the move

Liverpool right-back Patrik Farkas has joined Blackburn Rovers on loan, according to Bocsak Bence.

Rovers have worked with the Reds in the past, snapping up Harvey Elliott on loan during the season before last.

Farkas now joins on a season-long loan, according to the report, and another Liverpool defender in Sepp van den Berg is also being linked.
