Police issue statement on alleged rape in Henbury

A large area outside a line of shops in Henbury has been cordoned off after a woman was allegedly rape in the early hours of this morning (April 29).

BristolWorld was sent images of the area on Crow Lane, near the the A4018, this morning. It showed police tape around the green space with police vehicles also present.

People took to social media to also express their concern over the situation.

Avon and Somerset Police issued a statement this lunch time. It said: “Officers were called to Crow Lane, in Henbury, this morning (Saturday 29 April) at around 12.30am following a report of a rape.

“The investigation is ongoing and a police cordon remains in place in the area. Officers are treating this as an isolated incident.

“Officers are providing support to the victim, and she is being offered specialist help and advice from trained professionals.”

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have any information, or any relevant footage, to help this investigation to call 101 and quote reference 5223099038.
