Cannabis haul uncovered in village high street near Bristol

Almost £100,000 of cannabis was discovered at a property on a village High Street near Bristol by police, who have arrested two people.

The 222 plants were found at the at the dwelling in Claverham last Friday (April 28). Two people - a man in his 20s and a woman in her 40s - were arrested and have since been released on police bail while the investigation continues.

The plants have an estimated street value of around £90,000.

Sgt Mark Dennis said: “We would like to thank those who have come forward with information so far and we are continuing to appeal to the local community for any further information relating to the offence and drug dealing in the area.

“Drugs have a significant detrimental impact on communities and we are committed to doing everything we can to ensure people do not have to suffer the harm and criminality we know is a consequence of them.”
