Avon and Somerset Police arrested two boys in their teens who were subsequently released under investigation.

It has not been said if the pair arrested were also students at the school.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the school said: “Over the weekend, we were made aware of an incident that took place during half term, in which one of our students was injured.

“Our thoughts are with the injured student and their family.

“We are supporting the students and parents affected by this incident and will continue to do so.

“We are also liaising with all of the relevant external agencies during this time.”

Headteacher Louise Blundell sent an email to parents on the incident at the start of this week, offering support for those families affected.

In it, she described the incident as ‘serious’ and involving ‘a small group of our students’.
