Dozens of schools in Bristol will close on Friday, February 18, due to Storm Eunice.

The decision by school leaders follows a rare red weather warning being issued for parts of Bristol with winds over 70mph expected to hit.

The redalert is for 7am to lunchtime tomorrow, and is for the western side of Bristol - the rest of the city has been issued with an amber warning.

Attractions in the city are also shutting, while other services, such as rail transport, are also expected to be affected tomorrow.

This afternoon (February 17), Bristol City Council advised schools to close due to the red weather warning.
