Hundreds of people dressed as Father Christmas took part in a five-mile fun run through a village on the outskirts of Bristol at the weekend.

The Saltford Santa Dash brought plenty of festive cheer as the village turned red and white on Sunday morning.

Starting at the village hall, around 500 runners took the route along country lanes to Keynsham and back, and were cheered along by spectators along the way.

At the finish line the runners were met with mince pies and coffee.

There was also a mini dash for young children ahead of the big fun run.

There were medals for finishers as well as a party atmosphere with music, refreshments and another Father Christmas for photographs with children.

The annual event, which began in 2013, this year raised money for charities Off the Record and Project 28.

Off The Record aims to improve the health and wellbeing of young people, while Project 28 is a drug and alcohol help service for young people.

Last year, due to Covid restrictions, the event was done virtually.
