The Christmas Market opened in Bristol on November 5.

It features more than 40 stalls that sell a range of festive treats, crafts and novelty items, as well as more than 50 beautifully decorated chalets.

At the hub of the market are its food and drink services which includes the hotly-anticipated Jager Barn Bar.

Serving keen Bristolians that are in need of a pint of beer or a bratwurst, it has been at the centre of angry customers who are not fans of the prices.

Resident Nick Woon posted a comment on Facebook reacting negatively to the cost of products at the bar, stating: “£6 for a pint of flat lager!?”

“I’m not that stupid to pay extortionate prices” said Mark Bidwell, while Alan Martin described the pricing as “too dear”.

Hazel Wood followed up and said: “How can you call it a Christmas Market? It’s awful! Disgusting food and rubbish things”.

However, not every Bristolian has had negative experiences with the food and drink at this year’s Christmas Market.

Teri Lloyd posted on Facebook that she “went today and had a great time, the food was lush!”.

“I will never forget the mulled wine and sausages...yummy” said Yazkin Riaga Pinto, while Laura Morris was looking forward to enjoying it, saying “Let’s do this! We can book an igloo for food and drink and then have a night out.”
