Carol Vorderman has given a glimpse behind the scenes of her upcoming appearance on the BBC. The former Countdown star, 62, who lives in Bristol, showcased her enviable hourglass figure in a denim jumpsuit as she took to Instagram on Friday to share photos and videos from her appearance on Have I Got News For You.

The satirical panel show, which has been on our screens since the 1990s, was filmed on Thursday of this week, as the show focuses on current news.

In the post, Carol can be seen donning a skin-tight denim jumpsuit from high-end brand, Guess. She finished the look with black high-heeled boots, and gold pendant earrings.

The I’m A Celebrity star also showed off her new blonde curly hair, which she debuted during an appearance on ITV’s This Morning last week. During the phone-in segment on the show, she dubbed herself as ‘the Little Mermaid of pensioners.’

The behind-the-scenes footage of Have I Got News For You shows Carol sitting beside team captain and journalist, Ian Hislop, 62, as they prepare to film. She also shared photos taken backstage alongside the host for the episode, Steph McGovern, the team captains, Paul Merton, 65, and Ian Hislop, as well as the opposing team guest, comedian Nabil Abdulrashid, 37.

The Countdown legend also included snaps of everyone leaving the studio in high spirits after filming the show. In one snap Carol can be  seen laughing out loud as she walks arm-in-arm with Ian Hislop, who is still enjoying a glass of white wine as they make their exit.

Channel 4 journalist and host of Packed Lunch, Steph is also seen alongside them, cutting a trendy figure, in a colourful patterned Fendi jacket, black denim, and white trainers. She also shared a few snaps taken backstage, as she showed her excitement for being the host for the evening.

Carol captioned the post: “Had a great night recording HIGNFY. @stephlunch hosting. @manlikenabz on with Paul Merton. I was with Ian Hislop. Managed a word or two (ahem) about the Tories 🤔😇

“Blinded by the flashes from the paparazzi and Ian’s making us die laughing with his arm up “no photos, no photos”..😂 A good night 💪🏻.”

Carol’s appearance on the BBC show comes after the TV presenter was praised by fans as she hit the gym for a gruelling work out on Sunday, which she shared to her Instagram page.  In the videos, she appeared fresh-faced and wearing skin-tight matching workout clothes as she worked up a sweat at the Gymset centre in Bristol, using kettlebells and sliding disks.

The post, which was shared with Carol’s 352,000 Instagram followers, left fans praising the TV star and expressing their amazement at her strength and determination. One fan commented: “Living life to the full Carol is an inspiration to us all 💪🏼.”

Another wrote: “You are awesome Carol. I’m 53 and you inspire me to get my ass in gear again.” While a third chimed in, saying: “Absolutely [100%] inspiring.”

In the post, Carol said she “felt like the luckiest woman alive,” and raved that she “loves life,” whilst revealing her busy schedule in Bristol. She also revealed to her followers that she’s working on a book, she said: “I’ve been finishing off a synopsis for a book I want to write, a book that I’ve wanted to write for a long time.

“I’m very very excited about it, and I’ve been nagged and nagged by a few publishers to get the synopsis written.”

‘Have I Got News For You’ will be aired on BBC One, on Friday 26 May at 9pm.
