A new Chinese restaurant and cocktail bar has opened in Bristol city centre.

Dao Chao has opened on Broad Quay in the former premises of restaurant and cocktail bar Aluna, which closed on New Year's Eve.

Yen-Ting Miu, owner of Dao Chao, said: “We’re thrilled to bring this casual dining experience into the mix of Bristol’s exciting and vibrant food scene.

"We’re located just steps away from the harbourside, and we’re offering casual Chinese dining food that everybody can enjoy!

The new opening is described as the 'the perfect spot for those seeking a fusion of traditional Chinese cuisine with a modern Western twist'.

The menu includes dishes such as the Bao Bun Burgers, Mussel Stir Fry and Crispy Lotus Root, with prices starting from £12.50 for a main dish.

For cocktail enthusiasts, there are original Dao Chao creations such as the Mother of Dragons, a golden rum cocktail with apricot, almond and dragon fruit.

Every Saturday and Sunday, the restaurant also offers a bottomless brunch for £25.95 per person.

To celebrate the opening, Dao Chao is inviting diners to enjoy 50 per cent off all food until February 9.

Once the soft launch period is over, guests can enjoy a 2-4-1 cocktail offer which runs on selected cocktails from Sunday to Friday.
