The 10 most expensive areas to buy a property in Bristol have been revealed with a sharp rise in median price for the city’s most expensive neighbourhood.
The Office for National Statistics data shows the median house price hit £725,000 in Westbury-on-Trym which overtook Henleaze as the most expensive area to buy property as of September 2022. The ONS’ last data, recorded in June 2022, had the median house price in Westbury-on-Trym valued at £585,500. All but one of the 10 neighbourhoods on the list are based in north Bristol.
The median price paid for a property means the ONS has arranged every deal struck to purchase a home in the year ending September 2022 and selected the middle price. Therefore, there will be an equal 50/50 split of purchases in each area above the price included in the list and below it.

5. Victorian terrace houses in Bishopston, Bristol.
Bishopston is known for its beautiful Victorian terraced homes. It has a number of great schooling options nearby which attracts families. The median price paid for a property in this area was £501,650- up from £465,000 in June 2022.
6. Redland and St Andrews
You can find Redland & St Andrew’s tucked away from the bustling Whiteladies Road as well as the Durdham Downs. It remains one of Bristol’s most sought after areas. The median price paid for a property in this area was £495,000 - the same figure as June 2022.
7. Horfield
Horfield is a bustling neighbourhood. The area includes part of Gloucester Road, which means there are a good variety of restaurants, independent shops, the odd pub, some green spaces, family-friendly hang-outs. The median property price for September 2022 was 470,000.
8. Clifton Village
Clifton Village is one of Bristol’s most well-known areas and is perched on a hill overlooking the city. It is a diverse area thanks partly to its student accommodation and it home to many great independent businesses, cafes and pubs. The median price paid for a property in this area was £465,000 - up from £440,000 in June 2022.
