A moped rider was taken to hospital after they were involved in a crash with a vehicle in Kingswood. Police closed the road briefly following the incident in Regent Street, outside Cex, at 4.03pm yesterday (October 17).

An image of the moped’s front wheel lodged in the back of a blue vehicle was shared on social media, but then removed over concern for the health of those involved last night.

Avon and Somerset Police confirmed the call-out this morning. A spokesperson said officers were dispatched to a road traffic collision involving a moped and a car just after 4pm. They added: “The rider of it was checked by ambulance staff and taken to hospital due to a minor head injury.”

South Western Ambulance Service also confirmed its attendance today. A spokesperson said: “We were called at 16.03hrs on Monday 17 October to a road traffic collision in Kingswood. We sent an operations officer and a double-crewed land ambulance and conveyed one patient to Bristol Royal Infirmary.”

After both vehicles were recovered and debris removed from the road, the street reopened.
