Missing Preston: Body found in woodland near Bristol during police search

A body has been discovered in the search for a missing 26-year-old man from Shirehampton. Preston was last seen on Friday (March 17) when he left his home - and his disappearance triggered an appeal by Avon and Somerset Police.

Tonight, the force said officers searching for him had found a body in a wooded area near Cribbs Causeway. A spokesperson said: “While formal identification has yet to take place, his next of kin have been notified and our thoughts are with them.

“ Officers are not treating the death as suspicious and continue with enquiries on behalf of the coroner.”

Preston was last seen when he left his home in a Renault Clio on Friday night at 9.30pm. He had messaged his family saying he’d broken down and didn’t know where he was.

The force had said it was concerned for his welfare.
