There are three new additions in Bristol in the Michelin Guide for 2023. It takes the number of restaurants and pubs in the guide up to an impressive 18, with many in Wapping Wharf.
The series of guide books have been published by the French tyre company Michelin since 1900. The Guide awards up to three Michelin stars for excellence to a select few establishments, while it awards Bib Gourmands and recommends others.
Here is every Bristol restaurant to make the Michelin Guide 2023 – and what critics had to say.
1. Blaise Inn, Henbury
‘This simply decorated village inn serves good value, traditional British dishes cooked with a skilful, modern approach – make sure you save room for dessert’
2. One Michelin star: Paco Tapas, city centre
‘Appealing menus provide plenty of choice and include all the favourites, from jamon croquetas and tortillas – where the rich, golden egg just oozes out – to the fire-cooked bread which will have you in raptures. Dishes are skilfully prepared and packed with flavour – and the passion with which they are made is palpable’
3. BOX-E, Wapping Wharf
‘A compact restaurant clad in chipboard and plywood. Cooking comes from the heart and dishes are rustic, assured and flavour-packed. The panna cotta is a must!’
4. Little French, Redland
‘Well-executed dishes are fresh and hearty: at lunch, have the ‘plat du jour’ and a glass of wine; in the evening go for one of their sharing dishes. '
