Live funeral screenings: Where to watch The Queen’s funeral in Bristol today

Bristol Cathedral, cinemas and churches will today be holding public screenings of The Queen’s funeral as the country pays its respects to the longest-serving monach.

Hide AdHuge crowds will gather in London to watch the processsion carrying The Queen’s coffin to Westminister Abbey where 2,000 guests will be inside for the service, which will start at just before 11am and finish at around noon.
While in Bristol, more than 100 miles away, those not watching the even on their television screens will have the opportunity to come to communal spaces in the city where screenings will be held.
Since last Wednesday, the monarch has been lying in state at Westminister Hall with thousands paying their respects. People have also been paying tribute in Bristol, and there was a minute’s silence at City Hall, led by the Lord Lieutenant of Bristol, the Lord Mayor of Bristol, and the Dean of Bristol, last night.

There are also two books of condolence are available to sign, one located in City Hall and the other in Bristol Cathedral.
The opening times for the City Hall book is 9am to 6pm, Monday 12 September to 19 September.

Hide AdAnyone wishing to lay floral tributes in memory of The Queen are asked to lay them at the West End of Bristol Cathedral, the side closest to Central Library
The flag on City Hall will fly at half-mast and at civic buildings across our city during the period of mourning.
City Hall will also be lit up in purple throughout the period.
