Hengrove fire: Firefighters tackle large shed and fencing blaze

Five fire crews are dealing with a blaze involving sheds and fencing in Hengrove - with smoke visible for miles around.

Crews from Bedminster, Kingswood, Portishead Temple and Bath were called to the fire in Griggfield Walk at 4.15pm.

Images circulated on social media show large flames from the site, while people gather round.

An Avon Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “Crews from Bedminster, Kingswood, Portishead Temple and Bath are attending a fire affecting sheds and fencing on Griggfield Walk, Hengrove.

“We currently have 5 fire engines and 1 turntable ladder on the scene, crews are working on extinguishing the blaze.”

They added: “We’re pleased to confirm no injuries have been reported.”

Onlooker Joe Hillier said: “Garden shed fully engulfed in flames and has spread up the garden to two houses. Unclear how affected houses are by the fire.”
