Five dazzling pictures from one of Britain’s most festive house displays

The display includes life-size Santas, snowmen, rope-light shapes, trains, elves and a large reindeer family in the garden

One of Britain’s most festive Christmas home lights display has been switched on in Bristol again this year - and is likely to take a fundraising campaign to well over £100,000 for the Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal at Bristol Children’s Hospital.

Builders Lee and Paul Brailsford have spent 27 years turning their mum Rosemary’s house in Brentry into an idyllic winter wonderland. The display includes lights as well as life-size Santas, snowmen, rope-light shapes, trains, elves and a large reindeer family in the garden.

Recognised as one of the largest private Christmas lights displays in the UK it takes six weeks to carefully piece together the display. A switch on took place at the family home in Trevisa Grove on December 1.

The Brailsford home will light up every night through Christmas, and are on from 5pm to 10pm. To donate visit the Brailsford’s Just Giving page www.justgiving.com/fundraising/brailsfordslights - or use the collection boxes outside the property.
