Felix Mills: Bristol University confirm death of second-year student

A second-year student at Bristol University has died, the university has confirmed.

News of the death of Felix Mills, who studied politics and international studies, has been shared with ‘great sadness’ by the university.

It is not yet known what the circumstances were of his death.

Professor Sarah Purdy, pro vice-chancellor for student experience at Bristol University, said: “It is with great sadness that I can confirm the death of second year Politics and International Studies student Felix Mills.

“Our thoughts and sympathies are with his family and friends at this time.”

She added: “Felix was a member of several student societies and we are reaching out to his friends and class mates to offer support.

“The death of a student affects the entire university community and I ask that anyone who needs support contacts our wellbeing services who are here to help.”

The university has been in contact with Felix’s family, which provided a picture to be published.

It is the second known death of a student at the university after biochemistry student George Franks-Herbert died at Gravity night club in Clifton in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Avon and Somerset Police has said the circumstances of his death are not believed to be suspicious, with the case now passed on to a coroner.

The student deaths are unrelated.
