It’s the most anticipated sporting fixture in Bristol so far this year. Almost 27,000 people will pack out Ashton Gate to see England’s Lionesses team take on Belgium in the decider of the Arnold Clark Cup on Wednesday (February 22).

The European Championship holders beat both Korea Republic and Italy ahead of the final round game which will see either the Lionesses or Belgium lift the trophy. The decider will take place at 7.45pm, straight after Korea Republic vs Italy at 4.45pm.

It will be the first international game at Ashton Gate since England played a Euro qualifier back in November 2015. That time 13,040 people were in attendance - but thanks to growing success of the women’s game, the stadium will be rocking come 7.30pm.

With so many people attending, here’s a quick guide to help those going make the most out of the event.

Travel: Event special shuttle buses are taking three routes; from Brislington Park and Ride, Portway Park and Ride and Temple Meads. Tickets are sold out - but for those with tickets, the buses will operate between 5.15pm and 7.15pm, plus two early departures at 3.55pm and 4.10pm. Coming back, the shuttle buses will operate until 11pm.

Don’t have a shuttle bus ticket? Don’t worry. Many bus services across Bristol to Ashton Gate are operating, including the m1 from Cribbs Causeway, 23 from Ashton Vale, X1 and X2 from Weston-super-Mare, X4 from Portishead and X9 from Nailsea. From the other direction, the services come from the city centre. Timetables can be viewed here.

Anyone driving to the game should be aware that parking at Ashton Gate is sold out. There are also resident parking schemes and road closures - Ashton Road and Marsh Road, 6pm to 11pm - which mean Ashton Gate Stadium is advising people to park at least a mile from the stadium to avoid getting stuck in traffic.

Motorists should also be aware of the Clean Air Zone, with some cars eligible for charges. People arriving in taxi are advised to be dropped off at least half a mile from the stadium.
