But it is unclear how long the closure will last. Greggs have been approached for comment.
Customer Jody Smith, who eats in at the Greggs every week, has reacted with frustration to what is the latest in a string of shops to close in Broadwalk.
“It’s the only place to sit in and get a coffee in Broadwalk, because the other cafe, Nikki Jaine’s Light Bites, has shut,” she said.

“We know this place is going to be done up, but there’s a lot of housing.”
Broadwalk is the subject of a proposed redevelopment, with controversial plans to demolish the shopping centre and replace it with up to 850 flats approved by councillors in July.
The Knowle store is also not the only Greggs to close, with a notice on the store in the Galleries Shopping Centre saying it is too closed down ‘until further notice’.

Hide AdGreggs is the latest in a string of stores to close in Broadwalk in recent months, with B&M Bargains, a soft play centre and butchers also having shut. MW Fresh Foods closed in February after 23 years of trading at the shopping centre.
Some stores remain in the centre for now, including an Iceland, Select Fashion clothes shop, SnookerCity and Club3000 Bingo.
