Industrial action means just four services go from Plymouth toward Bristol, and four toward Scotland on CrossCountry’s main route today.

The operator’s ‘strike timetable’ shows trains to Plymouth depart Temple Meads at 9.45am, 1.45pm, 4.45pm and 6.47pm.

Going the other way, toward Scotland, the main line service leaves Temple Meads at 9.39am, 11.39am, 1.39pm and 2.39pm

Great Western Railway services are also disrupted.

The operator said problems were due to staff being unavailable because of self isolation requirements.

Among the services cancelled on New Year’s Eve were the 12.02pm, 2pm and 3.32pm services between London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads.

Engineering works also means the operator has a bus replacement service between Gloucester and Bristol Temple Meads, which includes Bristol Parkway, today.

Customers of all rail services should check their journey before leaving home, both GWR and CrossCountry have said.

Refunds are available for customers choosing not to travel.
