Woman hit with broken bottle in attack by group of men in taxi dispute in Bristol

A man and a woman were attacked by a group of men in a dispute over a taxi. The incident happened on Gloucester Road, at the junction with Zetland Road, on Sunday, March 19 at 1.20am.

The woman, aged 20, was hit with a broken bottle, and suffered head injuries and concussion. The man, aged 25, suffered a broken nose. Both were taken to hospital for treatment.

Avon and Somerset Police say the offenders walked off in the direction of the city centre, and got into another taxi which dropped them off in the Hampton Road area of Redland.

A spokesperson said: “The woman suffered head injuries and concussion after being struck with a broken bottle, while the man suffered a broken nose. Both of them required hospital treatment.

“The offenders walked off in the direction of the Arches following the incident and got into another taxi, which dropped them off in the Hampton Road area of Redland.”

Detectives are appealing for anyone who saw the inicident to get in contact by calling 101 and giving the call handler the reference number 5223063917.
