A Ford Focus driver was threatened by a jogger on Whiteladies Road and then attacked by the driver of a Mercedes vehicle in a nearby road last Friday morning (November 4). The two incidents have been linked by Avon and Somerset Police.

The force said that the man was left needing treatment by an ambulance crew for a head injury. Police are now following up ‘positive lines of enquiry’ after carrying out enquiries at nearby homes.

It started at 9.50am, when the driver of the silver Ford was theatened by a jogger who crossed his path. The pair then headed in the same direction to Beaufort Road where the wing mirror to the car was damaged.

A second vehicle then arrived, a black Mercedes estate, and its driver reportedly assaulted the Ford driver before leaving in the vehicle, accompanied by the jogger.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: “Officers attended and the man received treatment for a head injury from ambulance crew. Initial house-to-house enquiries were carried out and the investigation continues with officers following up positive lines of enquiry. “If you saw or have footage of either incident, or any other information which could help, please call 101 and give the reference 5222265617.”
