Man found stabbed in Castle Park in Bristol after ‘confrontation involving a number of people’

Avon and Somerset Police have releaesed a statement

A man was stabbed in Castle Park during a reported confrontation involving ‘a number of people’ last night (August 3), say Avon and Somerset Police.

Officers also arrested a man in connection with the attack, the force added.

The incident happened just after 10pm. Today, police have cordoned off an area of Bridge Street, next to Castle Park, where a taxi is situated.

A statement released by Avon and Somerset Police said: “A man has been arrested following an assault in Bristol last night (Wednesday 3 August).

“Police were called just after 10pm amid multiple reports of a confrontation involving a number of people.

“Officers found a man in Castle Park had been stabbed and he was taken to hospital. He has since been discharged.

“A 35-year-old man was arrested and remains in custody.

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing in the area and a scene is currently in place.

“Anyone with information about what happened is asked to call 101 and give reference number 5222185835.”
