A 59-year-old man was hit by a car and died

A man will appear in court tomorrow (July 6) charged over a suspected hit-and-run which resulted in the death of a grandfather in Bristol. The incident in Antona Drive in Shirehampton happened on December 11, at 1am.

Andrew Latter, 62, from Leominster in Herefordshire, will appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court charged with being the driver of a Vauxhall Zafira vehicle which failed to stop following an accident which caused the death of Paul Tucker. Latter has not been charged with causing Mr Tucker’s death.

At the time, Avon and Somerset Police said Mr Tucker died at the scene of the crash. Afterwards, his daughter Danielle released a tribute, describing him as a ‘loving, caring and, some may say, funny man’.

The grandfather of two had suffered two strokes, but his family were looking forward to his recovery and spending Christmas with the 59-year-old. Latter is due to appear at the magistrates’ court from 2pm.
