Man accused of north Bristol vehicle arson attacks appears at crown court

A man charged over a series of arson attacks in the north of Bristol appeared at Bristol Crown Court today (May 25).

Daniel Cron, 26, of Eleventh Avenue in Filton, is accused of 24 counts of arson in connection with vehicle fires in Bradley Stoke, Stoke Gifford and Little Stoke in the early hours of Sunday, April 3.

At a short hearing at Bristol Crown Court today, Cron, dressed in a dark tracksuit, spoke only to confirm his name from the dock.

The case was adjourned for a plea and trial preparation hearing to take place at the same court on June 14.

Cron was released on conditional bail with an electronic tag and a night curfew to reappear on that date.

Dozens of vehicles, including some belonging to Bradley Stoke Town Council and charity Four Towns and Vale Link Community Transport, were damaged in the spate of fires.

It sparked a strong community response with support for the police investigation and lifts offered to those without transport as a result of the incidents.
