Eerie photos show Castle Park following the ‘devastating’ death of a man

The man was attacked duringdaylight yesterday

Castle Park would normally have been busy with walkers, e-scooter riders and cyclists on their way to work this morning - but instead the city park was empty apart from more than dozen police officers at the scene.

The park is taped off after a man died following a stabbing at 4.30pm yesterday (Janaury 31). This morning Avon and Somerset Police said the man had died despite being taken to hospital after the attack.

An investigation has started at the scene, and the park remains closed. The death, which came just hours after another man died following a flat incident in Hartcliffe, has been described as ‘devastating’ by people commenting on social media.

One person said: “Broad daylight [in the] city centre - nowhere’s safe it seems - let’s hope there’s clear CCTV - RIP and condolences to their loved one.”
