Boy, 15, suffers broken jaw in attack by cyclist at ring road underpass in Kingswood

A 15-year-old boy suffered a broken jaw after he was punched by a male cyclist at an underpass at Bristol’s ring road in Kingswood.

Despite the incident happening on June 2 last year, Avon and Somerset Police has released a CCTV image in connection with its investigation.

The force said the boy was walking along Deanery Road and began entering the underpass under the A4147 when a male riding a bike braked sharply in front of him.

After a verbal exchange, the cyclist punched the teenager, causing the victim’s jaw to break in two places.

The teenager required surgery to help him recover.

Police want to speak to the person in the CCTV image, taken around the time of the incident at 4.45pm.

He is described as late-teens or early-20s, having a short stubbly beard and approximately 6ft.

He was wearing a blue and white camouflage-style head covering and a white top.
