Covid booster jab: Dates and opening times for every walk-in centre session in Bristol up to Christmas

Walk-in centres are opening in a family centre, university and shopping centre in the region

Prime Minster Boris Johnson announced this week that all adults would be offered a booster jab by the end of January.

The challenge the NHS now faces is providing the doses, venues and staff to meet the 62-day target for around 14 million people nationally.

As part of the plan - drawn up as confirmed cases of the Omicron start to spread - the current eligibility rule that people only aged 40 and over will be reduced to all adult ages.

And the minimum time between the second dose and a booster will be halved from six to three months.

What is happening in Bristol

Bristol, North Somerset and Gloucestershire CCG said today (December 1) that no changes will be made to its vaccination programme until national guidance is updated.

This means only people aged 40 and over, 18 and over with an underlying health condition and frontline health and care staff are eligible for a booster vaccine.

There must also be at least 6 months (182 days) since their second dose.

Current advice

People can attend any of the walk-in clinics available in our area to get their booster vaccine.

They can also book a vaccination appointment using the online National Booking Service or by calling 119.

New appointments are added regularly, so people are asked to keep trying if nothing is available.

A GP may also be in touch to provide an invitation for a vaccination appointment.
