Covid-19 booster walk-in centres Bristol: Where can I get booster without appointment

People in Bristol are scrambling to get Covid-19 booster jabs in time for Christmas.

On the day the UK recorded the highest number of new cases in one day on December 15, Bristol also saw almost 450 positive tests reported with Omircon now known to be among cases in the city.

The rise in cases has led to a rush by Bristolians to get their booster jab at walk-in services, such as the Bristol Rapid Testing Centre in St Jude’s on Tuesday.

Following, Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s announcement on Sunday, eligibility has also changed with anyone over 18 now able to use clinics in the area, according to the Bristol region’s vaccination programme providers.

Yet despite promises of extra vaccine sites by the Prime Minister - in Bristol there are just three sites offering a walk-in service without appointment.

The Cabot Circus pop-up vaccination site closed to walk-ins due to demand. It has, however, recently extended its hours on the days it is open.

As well as walk-ins, GP services are opening clinics for booster vaccinations in the region.

NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Healthier Together Partnership outlines on its website who is eligible to get one of the booster vaccines at walk-in clinics.

Firstly, the booster can only be administered at least three months after their second dose.

Those eligible:

*People aged 16 and over

*Those who live in care homes

*Frontline health and care staff

*Carers aged 16 and over

*People aged 16 and over with an underlying health condition
