Bristol traffic: Three-vehicle crash results in closure of A4174 ring road between Keynsham and Longwell Green

A crash involving three vehicles on the A4174 ring road between Longwell Green and Keynsham led to the northbound closure of the route this morning. Despite one lane reopening at 12noon, there was still congestion at 12.45pm.

Firefighters and police were called to the incident at 11.34am. Two casualties were both out of their vehicles before the emergency services arrived and it is understood they have been taken to hospital by ambulance.

The road was closed to allow the damage to be cleared and vehicles to be recovered.

An Avon and Fire Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from Temple and Kingswood were called at 11.34am to a road traffic collision on the northbound of the ring road between Hicks Gate and Keynsham.

“Crews used small tools to make the area safe. The two casualties were both out of their vehicles prior arrival.

Police are also scene. The road was closed for a time before one lane was reopened at 12noon.”
