A pub and restaurant has temporarily closed ‘due to unforeseen circumstances’.

A notice on the entrance to the Toby Carvery Maes Knoll in Whitchurch Village today (November 2) says it will be closed ‘for the duration of the day’.

It is currently unclear why the closure is in place.

“We will be closed for the duration of the day due to unforeseen circumstances,” the notice at the Toby Carvery on Bristol Road reads.

“We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.”

Earlier in 2023, the same Toby Carvery was closed due to a fridge failure, leading to more than 600 cancelled bookings.

BristolWorld is awaiting a response from Mitchells & Butlers, Toby Carvery’s parent company, regarding the reasons for the current closure.
