More than a dozen dogs are living at Bristol Animal Rescue Centre - and now need new homes with loving owners.
With less disposable income than usual, and basic household items surging in price, more people have been contacting rescue charities, like BARC, and asking them to take their animals in.
The local rescue centre houses dogs of all shapes, sizes and ages, and many have had difficult lives so far, or have been placed in care by their former owners.
Below are 14 of the centre’s dogs up for adoption:
1. Ruth
Brought into BARC as a stray, she can be a little anxious at times but she doesn’t take long to make friends. Since being at the centre she has made friends with lots of other dogs and the staff love her. She is a young girl which means that she has lots of energy. She does need to continue some training when she goes to a new home - but she’s clever so should pick it up quickly. | Alex Ross
2. Buzz
He can be quite sad when alone so I would love someone to adopt him that is home a lot. He is nice easy dog, even if you have never owned a dog before he will be patient with you. He can live with children 10 years and over and he may like to live with a fellow dog who is of similar age. | BARC
3. Nutsy and Waffles
Nutsy and Waffles, or as we call them Nuffles, come as a pair, Nutsy is the younger of the pair and often relies on Waffles for his reassurance, especially when out and about walking, Nutsy was very overwhelmed and worried when we initially began taking them on walks but has shown lots of improvement during his time with us so far. They love to play together but, like all relationships, do occasionally bicker however they get over this quickly and carry on as if nothing happened. | BARC
4. Fawn
Fawn is a super sweet young lady that is looking for a very specific home. She is a nervous dog and will need a female only home where she can learn to trust people again. Once Fawn has settled, she can be carefully and slowly introduced to males but to start will require a quiet female only household. Fawn is a truly wonderful dog that will surely attract a lot of attention. | BARC
