Bristol Christmas bin day collection: Residents warned over Christmas bin collection date changes

At Christmas, when people are planning for gifts, food and parties, there’s often little time to think about practical things like bin collection.

Something that normally works like clockwork and doesn’t need thinking about becomes important when the rubbish starts to pile up.

To avoid stress (and your rubbish piling up unexpectedly) you might want to be aware that during the holidays the bin collection service is delayed by a few days.

Bristol Waste, which takes care of bin collection in Bristol, will not be collecting from December 25-28 or January 1-3.

That means between December 27 and January 21 your normal collection day will be switched.

They will be making up for the missed days by doing three extra Saturdays in January: the 8th, 15th and 22nd.

Thursday January 6 - Monday January 10

Friday January 7 - Tuesday January 11

Monday January 10 - Wednesday January 12

Tuesday January 11 - Thursday January 13

Wednesday January 12 - Friday January 14

Thursday January 13 - Saturday January 15

Friday January 14 - Monday January 17

Monday January 17 - Tuesday January 18

Tuesday January 18 - Wednesday January 19

Bristol Waste will also be collecting Christmas trees for free between January 12 - 22.
