Bristol Balloon Fiesta 2023: 12 wonderful pictures of balloons filling the city’s morning skyline

It’s a taster ahead of the main event starting on Thursday

We’re now just three days away from the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta - and today the city got a taste of what was to come as dozens of balloons filled the morning sky.

Starting at around 6am, the balloons lifted off from Ashton Court. All colours and sizes, they drifted over the city, providing residents with morning cheer to their usual Monday morning routine.

The flights were for the festival’s pre-launch event. The fiesta will begin properly on Thursday evening with a mass ascent, followed by a Nightglow, where balloons light up on the ground to music.

The event will run until Sunday with a Family Fiesta Friday also planned. Car parking and Shuttle Bus tickets are available to purchase on the Fiesta website and must be purchased in advance as there will be no entry on the day.
