Over the last month multiple customers have posted about the Asda Whitchurch store in the local area Facebook group, raising concerns about management, anti-social behaviour and other issues.
A community activist says she has tried to arrange a public meeting with the store about the concerns and warns of a ‘serious incident’ happening if something is not done soon.

In one post, which has attracted almost 100 replies, a customer called the store on Oatlands Avenue ‘shocking’.
“I’m wondering if I have missed something and Asda Whitchurch is closing down?” they asked.
“Just been to do my weekly shop and the shelves are bare and what is on them is either out of date or out of date in the next few days.”
In another post, a customer called the store “horrible”.

“Proposing the formation of an ‘Improve Asda Whitchurch’ group to pressure Asda management and council to deliver better.
“Could start with a petition to improve services or change current management.
“Trying to communicate with Asda HQ is horrendous.”
And another customer has criticised the store’s click-and-collect process.

“Also have to leave my children unattended in a vehicle in an area where there are lorries turning and unloading.
“Not to mention the unhelpful staff I encountered.”
A video has also been shared of a group of boys harassing customers, with there being other reports of anti-social behaviour at the store.

“I tried to have a meeting with the boss, the police, some staff/security and members of the public, but he said no.
“There will be a serious incident there soon if they do not do something.
“The manager does not care about his customers or staff.”

Hide AdIn response to the issues raised, an Asda spokesperson told BristolWorld: “We set ourselves high standards to ensure that our customers have a positive experience when they shop with us.
“Whilst we’ve not received any complaints similar to this about our Whitchurch store, we are always disappointed to read any negative feedback.
“If any customer has any concerns then they should contact Asda directly so that we can look into it.”
