'Such a shame' - Sadness as Bristol petrol station to become self-service
Residents in south Bristol have hit out at plans for a petrol station to become self-service from next year.
Asda has confirmed that the petrol station at its Whitchurch store will become pay-at-the-pump from February 3.

But on social media, members of the local BS14 Facebook group have reacted with sadness and anger to the change.
One shopper wrote: "So sad for the community and the elderly people who still like to pay cash and have a conversation with the lovely ladies.
"Such a shame, I won’t be using this. I only go there because I can get my shopping and fuel in one trip.

In response, an Asda spokesperson told BristolWorld: "The petrol station will undergo a refurbishment which will bring great benefits and better service to customers including new pumps and contactless payment facilities."
In Bristol, the petrol stations at Asda's stores in Bedminster and Longwell Green are already pay-at-the-pump.
