A full-scale murder investigation has been launched in Bath following the sad death of a 16-year-old boy last night (June 10) - as these pictures show.
Forensic officers are combing the area in and around Eastfield Avenue in Weston after the boy was stabbed at a house shortly after 11pm. Eastfield Avenue is also currently closed with heavy police presence at the scene.
A mobile police station has been set up as police urge witnesses and anyone with information on the incident to come forward.
The boy could not be saved despite efforts by passers-by to provide first aid. Eight teenagers, aged between 15 and 17, and including two girls, are being questioned after they were arrested when they got off a bus at 11.30pm.
Chief Inspector Ronald Lungu, of the Bath Neighbourhood Team, said: “The community can expect to see a significant police presence in the area today, and for the next few days, while officers and police staff carry out a number of actions including forensic examinations, a review of CCTV footage and house-to-house enquiries.”
