A man killed by his model girlfriend chillingly told a pal ‘I’m dead when I get home’ just minutes before she stabbed him to death, a murder trial was told.

Bradley Lewis, 22, made the haunting premonition after his partner Abigail White, 24, accused him of ‘letting a man hit her’ during a row in the Horseshoe pub in Downend. The couple were being a given a lift home from the pub by Alfie Pike, who’d seen them arguing when he arrived at the boozer.

In a statement read to Bristol Crown Court, he said he’d asked Bradley what was happening in the pub on March 25 this year and was told White was ‘going mental’. When White wanted to leave the pub, Bradley still had ‘two or three pints’ left to drink first, Alfie said.

But an enraged White ‘swept’ the pints from the table and told him: “Now you don’t have any left.”

Alfie said a woman in her thirties then approached White to ask what was going on, to which she replied: “Who the f**k are you?” Her partner then ‘told White not to speak to his missus’ like that and she slapped him.

When the man struck her back, Bradley intervened and told him not to hit her. But White lashed out at Bradley and blamed him for ‘letting the man hit her’.

The court heard the argument continued as Alfie gave them a lift home from the pub.

Alfie said that during a break in the arguing, Bradley said: “I’m dead when I get home.” He went on: “I asked him what he meant and he repeated ‘I’m dead when I get home’. Abi said nothing.”

Alife, who described Bradley and White’s relationship as ‘toxic’, said he gave Bradley his number to ring him ‘if he needed him’. He said Bradley rang him at 7.54pm, just minutes before he was stabbed by White in the chest.

The court heard from forensic pathologist Dr Basil Purdue that a 7cm deep stab wound penetrated Bradley’s heart.

He said Bradley had been stabbed with ‘no more than moderate force’ and the knife passed through his rib cartilage before entering the main pump chamber of his heart. Emergency services were called to the White’s home in Chipperfield Drive in Kingswood where Bradley was taken to hospital. Tragically, he later died.

White, who has pleaded guilty to manslaughter, is on trial for murder after prosecutors rejected her plea.

The trial continues.
