Bristol is well known as a festival city that knows how to party and this summer there are more excuses than ever.
Whether it’s music, boats or air balloons, there’s a festival for everybody between now and the end of the summer.
Here’s a round-up of nine of the biggest and best events confirmed for the next few months, although there will be more to come and we’ll update the list as soon as they are.
1. Weston Wallz, Weston-super-Mare, May 24-June 4 (photo: Paul Box)
Returning to the seafront for another year, Upfest will once again bring unique murals and street art to the coastal town. A diverse selection of local, national and international artists will create large scale artworks on Weston’s walls. upfest.co.uk/page/weston-wallz
2. Love Saves The Day, Ashton Court Estate, May 27/28
Bristol’s biggest independent music festival is back after last year’s 10th anniversary with an equally stellar line-up of local and global stars including Fatboy Slim, Andy C and Years & Years. lovesavestheday.org
3. Bristol Sounds, Lloyds Amphitheatre, June 21-25 (photo: Paul Box)
Bristol’s popular series of open air concerts returns, kicking off with Jacob Collier, followed by indie legends James and an all-day Saturday festival headlined by The Levellers.
4. St Pauls Carnival, July 1
St Pauls Carnival is back with a procession, sound systems, costumes, food, musicians, dancers and much, much more. This year's theme will be ‘Learning From Legends’, as the carnival honours legends past, present and future. stpaulscarnival.net
