Clifton Village was revealed at the ‘best place to live in the South West’ by independent buying agency, Garrington Property Finders.
The ranking, which listed the 20 best places to live, considered the locations’ transport links, nearby train stations and destinations, and the number of good schools and private schools nearby.

Bristol University Student Ahmed has only moved into the area a couple of weeks ago but so so far has loved it.
He said: “It’s very nice, especially compared to the rest of Bristol. It feels much safe. The people around here seem to be friendlier.”

Hide AdJess described the area as “a really lovely community, very safe, very quaint” and with “a nice country feel inside of a big city.”
The feeling was shared by Jane and Julie who described Clifton Village as “lovely. It’s completely different than anywhere else” and has some lovely shops.
Eric, who is in his mid to late 70s, commented: “I’ve lived here for 25 years and I just like the fact that it’s clean, it’s extremely friendly, wonderful restaurants, lovely public houses, and not only that, the people are extremely friendly.
“The sun always shines here. And it’s one of the only places, I think, around here where people look after one another.”

Clifton Observatory, The Mall, Clifton Suspension Bridge and Princess Victoria Street were recurring favourites among locals.
When asked about problems with the area, residents only pointed out minor issues including parking, a “few professional street beggars” and “a little bit expensive sometimes compared to the rest of Bristol, but noting notable.”
