Several towns near Bristol and a Bristol neighbourhood have been named among the best places to live in the South West by independent buying agency, Garrington Property Finders.
The ranking, which listed the 20 best places to live, considered the locations’ transport links, nearby train stations and destinations, and the number of good schools and private schools nearby.

1. Clifton Village, Bristol
Coming in First place was Bristol's Clifton Village. The beautiful historic area has many independent stores and stunning architecture. Many homes in Clifton benefit from far-reaching views and ready access to the nearby green space of The Downs. Clifton is home to the highly rated Bristol Grammar School and Clifton College. 2. Chipping Sodbury, Gloucestershire
In second place was Chipping Sodbury. It stands at the crossroads of the main routes between Bristol, Oxford and London and has played a part as a strategic market town since medieval times. Located on the southern edge of the Cotswolds, Chipping Sodbury offers 'the best of both worlds' with open countryside nearby as well as amenities and recreation of a big city in the nearby Bristol. 3. Frampton on Severn, Gloucestershire
On third place, Frampton on Severn is a small village with a population of around 1,4000. Located on the edge of the Cotswold and on the banks of the River Severn, the village is steeped in history and offers an ideal hamlet for families looking for a taste of country living. 4. Frome, Somerset
The 'free-spirited' and 'pretty' Frome was judged as one of the best places to live in the South West by the Sunday Times in 2019. The town lies in the eastern part of the county of Somerset, at the heart of a predominantly rural community.
