In a day of runs which features breathtaking views of the city’s Avon Gorge and Clifton Suspension Bridge, the Great Bristol Run is back with a bang in 2022.

The event is for people of all running abilities, with a casual Family Run, a little test of a 10k run and a grueller of a 13.1 mile half-marathon on offer.

Here is everything you need to know about the Great Bristol Run in 2022, such as how to enter and the official routes for all three races.

When is the Great Bristol Run and where is it being held from?

Get your running boots ready for the Great Bristol Run when it returns in 2022 for three gruelling yet fun runs.

It is set to kick off on Sunday, 25 September from 9 am in the morning.

The races will be held from right in the heart of Bristol City Centre located at the following postcode: BS1 4SS.

What are the official times for the race?

Organisers of the Great Bristol Run have published the official times of the Great Bristol Run in 2022. They are as follows:

  • 7:30 am - information points open
  • 8:45 am - the family run starts
  • 9:00 am - the 10k run starts
  • 10:00 am - the half-marathon run starts

Please note that all timings are subject to change and confirmed start times will be confirmed closer to the date of the event and communicated to all entrants of the Great Bristol Run.

How can I enter the Great Bristol Run races?

With the big day of races within two months of starting at the time of publication, you can still seal your entry into either of the family runs, 10k or half-marathon.

In order to enter the Family Run event, you will need to pay a fee of £12 per person and reserve your place at the start line via the official LetsDoThis page.

If you wish to enter the 10k run, you will be required to pay an entry fee of £34 per person and reserve your place in the race via the official LetsDoThis page.

In what is the most gruelling challenge of the Great Bristol run, you might choose to take the hardest test and head out on the half-marathon run.

In order to enter this, you must pay an entry fee of £44 per person and book your place through the run’s official LetsDoThis page.

Please note that all bookings via this service are covered by the free Let’s Do This injury protection policy, so if you are injured and therefore unable to take part in the Great Bristol Run four or more days away from it starting, you can request a refund as long as you have an accompanying doctor’s note.

What are the official routes of the Great Bristol Run in 2022?

The routes for all three of the  Great Bristol Run races have been confirmed.

The Family Run, also known as ‘The Family Mile’, is a child-friendly one mile experience, with kids receiving a medal that they can show off to friends and family, as well as some edible treats, spot prizes and fancy dress for when they pass the finish line.

The official route of the 10k run, which will see you tread 6.2 miles through the city of Bristol, has also been confirmed. Here is the official route:

Whilst the hardest test of them all, the dreaded Great Bristol Half-Marathon, will see those who take part run for 13.1 miles using the following route:
