A sushi restaurant which is currently within the Galleries Shopping Centre is set to move to a new site.

Niji, which opened on the top floor of the shopping centre due for redevelopment in 2023, is planning to relocate to the nearby Union Gate block.

The restaurant, which serves Japanese cuisine, has applied for a premises licence with the opening hours of 11am to 10pm, Monday to Sunday.

In an Instagram post about the move earlier in the month, Niji wrote: "Opening date is still to be confirmed, but we are looking at early March for now.

“Dinner and new menu items will then be available.

“Stay tuned!”

Previous occupants of the new address on the corner of Union Street and Silver Street include Mana House, Atomic Diner, Steam and Bella Pizza.
