The 11 tenants have signed flexible leases with mutual rolling breaks to remain at the Broadmead shopping centre for the time being.
It comes after plans to knock down the centre and replace it with up to 450 homes, a 250-room hotel and up to 750 student beds alongside space for shops and offices were formally submitted.
The extensions follow a number of retailers choosing to leave the centre recently due to the redevelopment, including fashion brand Jack Wills and toy shop The Entertainer.
At least five other existing tenants are also said to be negotiating terms to renew their leases, with new businesses also expected to open their doors in vacant units before Christmas.
Robert Palmer, director in town retail at Savills Bristol, which advised on the lease renewals, said: "As we work to prepare for these exciting redevelopment plans, we are committed to ensuring that The Galleries remains a bustling destination for shoppers and visitors.
“Retaining our established occupiers is crucial and seeing these eleven occupiers re-commit is testament to our approach in the centre.
"We currently have shops available from 120 sq ft upwards, all on flexible leases with mutual rolling breaks.
“We hope The Galleries is an opportunity for local and regional business to trial trading in Bristol’s city centre, amongst a diverse range of shops that cater to the needs and interests of the community."
