The Bristol neighbourhoods where Covid-19 cases have increased fastest over the past week have been revealed, after the city recorded a sudden 60% jump in cases overall.
We haven’t heard much about the virus in recent weeks, especially after the Government put an end to all legal restrictions earlier this month.
But cases are on the up again, not just in Bristol but across the entirety of the UK, which recorded a 56% rise in cases in the week leading up to March 10.
During that time, cases in Bristol soared by 60.7%.
Here are the areas where they rose the fastest, according to the latest figures from NHS England.

1. Crew’s Hole - 320.1%
Cases surged by a whopping 320.1% in Crew’s Hole in the week leading up to March 10, after the infection rate there increased from 261.3 per 100,000 of the population to 1,097.6 in one week (leading up to March 3). | Google

2. Whitchurch Park - 142.8%
Cases in Whitchurch Park soared by 142.8% in one week after the infection rate per 100,000 of the population frose from 312.1 in the week leading up to March 3, to 757.9 in the week leading up to March 10. | Google

3. Shirehampton and Avonmouth - 137.5%
Cases of the virus have increased in Shirehampton and Avonmouth by 137.5% in one week. In the week leading up to March 3, the infection rate per 100,000 of the population was 325.2. The infection rate increased to 772.4 in the week leading up to March 10. | Google

4. Henleaze - 134.5%
Cases of the virus jumped by 134.5% in Henleaze in the week leading up to March 10. The infection rate recorded the week before (up to March 3) was 488.7 per 100,000 of the population. By the week leading up to March 10, this number had grown to 1,145.9. | Google
