We asked Bristolians their thoughts on the Excelsior store which opened on Friday (November 8).

The exciting new store is spread across two floors: the ground floor is the shop and the first floor is the new café.

The café serves cakes from Cakesmiths, a local small independent business.

We asked Bristolians what they think of the new Excelsior as they came out from the store.

Pokémon fan Ben had popped in for a few packs of Pokémon cards and praised the store’s good central location.

Rachel visited the store for the first time for a graphic novel for her son and praised the wide range: “They’ve got a huge range of graphic and I found one that I think he’ll like really like that he doesn’t have. I’d come back to look at the other graphic novels that they have. I’m really happy. I hope it does well.”

Ben and Patrick were regulars at the old store. They commented: “There’s so much more space, it doesn’t feel as cramped and everything’s in the same place so you can just kind of wander around and see everything. The layout’s really good as well and it’s easy to tell where things are. And it just looks a lot more inviting.”

Locals praised the spacious layout and the wide range of products, including comic, graphic novels and board games.
