South Gloucestershire's motorists will have 24 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

South Gloucestershire's motorists will have 24 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And five of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that 12 closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M32, from 9pm October 8 to 6am October 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 17 to 14 - carriageway closure for bridge deck refurbishment works, diversion for M5 traffic via Merlin Road, Hayes Way, A38 northbound, M5. Diversion for M4 traffic via A38 southbound, A4174, M32, M4.

M4, from 9pm October 8 to 6am October 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 20 exit slip roads to M5, junction 15 closures for bridge deck refurbishment works, diversion via M4 westbound, exit, junction 22 and return M4 eastbound to junction 20.

M32, from 9pm October 8 to 6am October 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 14 to 17 - carriageway closure for bridge deck refurbishment works, diversion via A38. For access to M5 southbound, follow A38, Hayes Way, Merlin Road, re-join M5, For access to M4 follow A38, A4174, M32, M4.

M32, from midnight, March 26 to 5am November 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M32, junction 1 to M4, junction 19 and M4, junction 19 to 23 used by GWR Railway Replacement Buses for Bristol Parkway to Newport route.

M5, from 5am March 25 to 5am November 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 17 to 16 - narrow lanes for SMART motorway improvements.

M5, from midnight, August 31 to 6am November 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 17 to junction 14 - offside narrow lanes in place for bridge deck refurbishment works.

M5, from 6am October 8 to 6am November 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 14 to junction 17 - narrow lanes in place including southbound, contra-flow lane running on northbound, carriageway for bridge deck refurbishment works.

M4, from 5am March 17 2023 to 5am January 21 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 19 to 20 - narrow lanes including 24/7 closure of offside running lane for SMART motorway improvements.

M4, from 5am March 11 2023 to 5am January 21 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 20 to 19 - narrow lanes including 24/7 closure of offside running lane for SMART motorway improvements.

M4, from midnight, August 30 2023 to 6am May 22 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 14 to junction 17 including access roads from M4 and M5, junction 16 exit slip road - 50mph speed restriction in place for bridge deck refurbishment works.

M5, from 8pm October 9 to 6am October 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 14 exit slip roads, lane closure installed by South Gloucestershire.

M4, from 9pm October 9 to 6am October 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 23 to 22 Prince of Wales Bridge - carriageway closure for bridge maintenance, diversion via M48 Severn bridge.

A46, from 10pm October 9 to 5am October 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 18 between exit and entry slip roads carriageway closure for electrical works, diversion via exit and entry slip roads.

M4, from 9pm October 11 to 6am October 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 23 to 22 Prince of Wales Bridge - lane closure for structure maintenance.

M32, from 10pm October 11 to 6am October 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M32 northbound, junction 2 to junction 1 carriageway closure for central reservation, diversion B4469 Muller Road, A38, A4174 to M32, junction 1.

M4, from 10pm October 11 to 6am October 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 22 to 23 Prince of Wales Bridge - carriageway closure for structure maintenance, diversion via M48 Severn Bridge.

A46, from 9am to 3.30pm on October 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 from Cold Ashton (A420) to M4, junction 18 used as a diversion route for Wiltshrie Council closure of the B4039 at The Gibb.

M32, from 9pm October 12 to 6am October 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M32 northbound, junction 1 to M4, junction 19 carriageway closure for cyclical works, diversion via A4174, A38, M5, junction 16 to M4, junction 20.

M32, from 9pm October 13 to 6am October 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M32 southbound, junction 1 to junction 2 carriageway closure for drainage, diversion, A4174 Filton Road, A38 Gloucester Road, B4469 Muller Road to junction 2.

M4, from 9pm October 17 to 6am October 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 19 to 18 - carriageway closure for structure inspection, diversion via M32, exit, junction 1, A4174, A420, A46 to re-join M4 at, junction 18.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
