South Gloucestershire's motorists will have 23 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

South Gloucestershire's motorists will have 23 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And seven of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that 10 closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M5, from 8pm December 1 to 6am December 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 14 to 16 - carriageway closure for emergency carriageway repairs, diversion via A38.

M4, from 9am November 27 to 3pm December 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 17 to 18, lane closure for horticultural works.

M5, from 6am October 8 2023 to 6am January 31 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 14 to junction 17 - narrow lanes in place including southbound, contra-flow lane running on northbound, carriageway for bridge deck refurbishment works.

M5, from midnight, August 31 2023 to 6am January 31 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 17 to junction 14 - offside narrow lanes in place for bridge deck refurbishment works.

M4, from 5am March 17 2023 to 11pm March 31 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 19 to 20 - narrow lanes including 24/7 closure of offside running lane for SMART motorway improvements.

M5, from 5am March 25 2023 to 11pm March 31 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 17 to 16 - narrow lanes for SMART motorway improvements.

M4, from 5am March 11 2023 to 11pm March 31 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 20 to 19 - narrow lanes including 24/7 closure of offside running lane for SMART motorway improvements.

M4, from midnight, August 30 2023 to 6am May 22 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 14 to junction 17 including access roads from M4 and M5, junction 16 exit slip road - 50mph speed restriction in place for bridge deck refurbishment works.

M4, from midnight, August 31 2023 to 6am May 22 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 17 to junction 14 including access roads from M4 and M5, junction 17 and junction 16 entry slip roads - 50mph speed restriction in place for bridge deck refurbishment works.

M4, from midnight, August 31 2023 to 6am May 22 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 20 exit slip road to M5 northbound, junction 15 - 24hr lane closure for bridge deck refurbishment works.

M48, from 7pm December 4 to 6am December 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M48 westbound, junction 1 to 2 Severn Bridge lane closure for structure maintenance works.

A46, from 10pm December 4 to 6am December 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 18 to junction 19 carriageway closure for carriageway repair, diversion via A46 south, A420 west, A4174 north and M32 north.

M32, from 8pm December 5 to 6am December 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 19 to 20 carriageway closure for SMART motorway improvements, diversion via M32 exit, junction 1, A4174, A38, join M5 northbound, at, junction 16, re-join M4.

M4, from 9pm December 5 to 5am December 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 16 exit slip road closed for SMART motorway improvements, diversion via M5 southbound, exit, junction 17, turn and re-join M5 northbound, exit, junction 16.

M48, from 7pm December 6 to 6am December 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M48 westbound, junction 1 to 2 Severn Bridge carriageway closed for structure maintenance works. Diversion via M4 Prince of Wales Bridge.

M4, from 9pm December 8 to 6am December 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M49 southbound, M4, junction 22 to M5, junction 18a carriageway closure for structural maintenance, diversion M4 eastbound to junction 20, southbound, on M5.

A46, from 8pm December 11 to 6am December 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 Cold Ashton to London Road, traffic lights for surveys.

M4, from 9pm December 11 to 6am December 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 23 to 22 Prince of Wales Bridge - carriageway closure for bridge maintenance, diversion via M48 Severn bridge.
