Road closures: more than a dozen for South Gloucestershire drivers this week

Drivers in and around South Gloucestershire will have 15 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And six of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M5, from 9pm April 22 to 6am April 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5, junction 16 closed northbound, between exit and entry slips for surveys, diversion via exit and entry slip roads.

And a further 14 closures will begin over the next seven days:

M4, from 8pm April 25 to 6am April 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4, junction 17 to 18 westbound, lane closure for surveys.

M32, from 9pm April 25 to 6am April 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound and southbound, junction 15 - 14 lane closures for barrier repairs.

M4, from 9pm April 25 to 6am April 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 Prince of Wales Bridge eastbound, carriageway closed overnight for bridge maintenance. Includes westbound, safety lane closure. Diversion via M48 Severn Bridge.

M4, from 10pm April 25 to 6am April 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4, junction 21 to 20 lane closures in both directions for bridge works.

M4, from 8pm April 26 to 6am April 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 21 to 22 - carriageway closure for carriageway repairs, diversion via M48 westbound.

M4, from 9pm April 27 to 6am April 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 Prince of Wales Bridge westbound, carriageway closed overnight for structure maintenance. Includes eastbound, safety lane closure. Diversion via M48 Severn Bridge.

M32, from 10pm April 27 to 6am April 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5, junction 15 to 16 closed southbound, for survey works, diversion via M4 east to junction 19, M32, junction 1, U-turn, M4 west onto M5 south, junction 16 exit and entry slip.

M32, from 10pm April 27 to 6am April 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M32 northbound, junction 1 to M4, junction 19 carriageway closure and M32 southbound, from M4, junction 19 to M32, junction 1 lane closure - for structure inspection, diversion - exit at M32, junction 1, A4174 westbound, A38 northbound, join M5 at, junction 16 northbound, join M4 at, junction 15.

M5, from 11pm April 29 to 6am April 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5, junction 14 to 15 southbound, carriageway closed overnight for general maintenance works. Diversion via A38 southbound to junction 16.

M5, from 10pm May 2 to 6am May 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5, junction 16 southbound, entry slip closed for survey works, diversion via A38 south, Hayes Way and Merlin Road to junction 17.

M4, from 9pm May 3 to 6am May 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 18A northbound, entry and exit slip closed for surveys. Diversion for entry slip via M49 north to junction 22, diversion for exit slip via M5 north to junction 15.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
