Road closures: more than a dozen for South Gloucestershire drivers this week

Drivers in and around South Gloucestershire will have 19 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing a holdup of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A4, from 8pm April 8 to 6am April 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 18 entry slip no access from Avonmouth for surveys, diversion via M5 J17 and return.

M32, from 8.30pm January 18 to 6am April 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M32 northbound and southbound, junction 1 exit slips lane closures for survey works.

And a further 17 closures will begin over the next seven days:

M48, from 7pm April 11 to 6am April 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M48 westbound, junction 1 to 2 - carriageway closure for structure maintenance, diversion via M4 Prince of Wales bridge.

M5, from 8pm April 11 to 5am April 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5, junction 16 lane closure in both directions for electrical works (Amberon).

M32, from 8.30pm April 11 to 6am April 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M32 southbound, junction 1 closed between the exit and entry slips for survey works, diversion via the southbound, exit and entry slips.

M5, from 9pm April 11 to 6am April 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5, junction 15 to 14 northbound, lane closure for surveys.

M4, from 9pm April 12 to 6am April 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M49 southbound, from M4, junction 22 to M5 J18 carriageway closued for surveys, diversion via M4 J20, M5, junction 19 and return M5 northbound to junction 18.

M5, from 9pm April 12 to 4am April 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 17 to junction 16 - Lane closure for Electrical works.

M5, from 9pm April 22 to 6am April 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5, junction 16 closed northbound, between exit and entry slips for surveys, diversion via exit and entry slip roads.

M32, from 10pm April 22 to 6am April 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M32 northbound, junction 2 to junction 1 - Lane closure for drainage.

M4, from 8pm April 25 to 6am April 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4, junction 17 to 18 westbound, lane closure for surveys.

M4, from 9pm April 25 to 6am April 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 Prince of Wales Bridge eastbound, carriageway closed overnight for bridge maintenance. Includes westbound, safety lane closure. Diversion via M48 Severn Bridge.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
